The University of Central Florida will hold a mid-week event ahead of Veterans Day to honor alumni who have served their country. Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11th. Veterans Day is a day to not only honor our fallen soldiers, but to also recognize our incredible veteran residents and students here at UCF. The transition from military personnel back to private citizens can be a challenging time. Veterans Day pays tribute to the many individuals who have honorably served our country in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Space Force. Their uniforms, military awards and decorations symbolize their leadership and commitment to our nation. The University of Central Florida will observe the following days as paid holidays during 2024: New Year’s Day. Martin Luther King’s Birthday. Memorial Day. Independence Day. Labor Day. Veterans Day. Please join us for a celebration of our UCF veterans and all who have served in the Armed Forces. Join us for Holiday events at the University of Central Florida in Orlando Florida. To be eligible for pay on a holiday or paid day off, a university employee must be in “active” pay status either by having worked or used leave for 50 percent of his/her scheduled workday immediately prior to the holiday. Throughout the month, members of the UCF community will have the opportunity to learn veteran stories, connect with other veteran students and alumni and celebrate new veterans’ projects at the university.
