The Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs hosts several events in support of our UConn Veteran and military population as well as events to recognize the sacrifices service members have made regardless of their affiliation to the University. The Veteran Community at UConn is an open, welcoming, supportive community of people who have sacrificed in service to our great nation. The Veteran Community encompasses nearly 1,500 students, staff and faculty who are: • Current Active Duty military and members of any of the uniformed services. • Current members of the Air or Army National Guard. The University of Connecticut held a ceremony for Veterans Day on Friday at the Ultimate Sacrifice Memorial during which the keynote speaker emphasized the importance of having resources for veterans on campus. UConn’s annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Ultimate Sacrifice Memorial on Founders Green, across from the Wilbur Cross Building. In the case of inclement weather, it will move to the Wilbur Cross North Reading Room.
