The city of Auburn will honor veterans and active military personnel Saturday during the 59th annual Veterans Parade and Observance. The parade began at 11 a.m. Saturday and lasted until 1 p.m ... The day starts bright and early with an American Legion-sponsored community breakfast at the Auburn Senior Activity Center from 7 to 9 a.m. The breakfast is followed by a Remembrance Ceremony and Lighting of the Flame at Veterans Memorial Park at 9:45 a.m. A handful of food trucks will be available adjacent to the parade route from 10 a.m. to 2 ... Auburn Veterans Day Marching Band Competition: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Auburn Memorial Stadium, 801 Fourth Street NE. One of the most prestigious band competitions in the state. Watch the 20-25 bands in the parade, then look on as they compete in the field competition later in the afternoon at Auburn Memorial Stadium. The parade will then proceed down Lincoln Way. It will pause at Central Square at 11:00 A.M..
