Basically non-persistent servers loot respawns on server restart while persistent servers the items stay where they are but slowly repspawns overtime. According to the DayZ Wiki: Servers differ in difficulty level, regular difficulty allows third-person, has a crosshair, and allows you to see other players nameplates. Veteran servers do not permit these. I was just wondering if servers marked "vet" have fixed settings i.e. if you select "veteran" mode when setting up the server there is automatically no NT, crosshair or third person, as stated in the sidebar. Many of the servers I play in (ANZ and NZ servers) are marked "vet" however still have 3rd person.
